Fresh Fish on Fort Myers Beach: Hook, Line and Dinner!

The Gulf of Mexico is a veritable treasure trove of delicious fish. Our fishing charters are not only a great trip out on our beautiful waters where you can enjoy the natural beauty of Fort Myers beach, but also a great opportunity to catch your next meal.

Our expert guides and captains know the best local spots to cast out for the best chances of catching one of many local fish species that are fun to catch and delicious! Join us on our fully equipped 28ft. fishing pontoon with partial shade and a bathroom for a half day or day out on the water, with hopefully, dinner in tow when we return back to the company.

What kind of fish can you hope to hook for a seriously delicious seafood dinner? Redfish, trout and snapper are most common. Occasionally we will catch pompano, spanish mackerel and shark. Snook are very common in our estuaries and although it’s heavily regulated, when in season, you will love the fight (and taste) of this fish.

Redfish, a local favorite that is also a blast to battle in the water is extremely flavorful when it’s on your plate. Broiled, blackened or grilled, you won’t be disappointed. Speckled Trout is always popular and is flavorful and delicious. Served with garlic butter or crushed almond will make your vacation dinner table into a five star restaurant. Snapper would be counted as another area favorite and a great addition to your evening meal. Whether sauteed, roasted, baked or fried you’ll definitely be begging for more!

Please keep in mind that all fish we catch are not able to be brought back to the marina for filleting. The entire team at Good Time Charters always follows all state regulations when it comes to open and closed fishing seasons and always follows the legal limit regarding the size number of specimens we can catch and keep.

Don’t know how to fillet a fish? Let our skilled charter captains show you the ropes or just take care of the dirty work for you. Smokin Oyster Brewery, and the Fish House are a couple of our favorite restaurants on the beach that will gladly cook up your fresh caught fillet for you should you choose to dine out.

Either way you choose to serve up your catch you will have had an experience that will never be forgotten.
