We participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life fundraiser event. Good Time Charters was one of the sponsors for the event and we also teamed up with Flipper’s by the Bay restaurant to raise additional money for the American Cancer Society. Our friend Jillybean (yes folks, I said Jillybean) from Flipper’s was our team’s captain, and we got together to walk the relay for about 17 hours. Jillybean and I got there early to set up our table to raffle off prizes, and I even sold a few of my photobooks, to add to the donations. We started out strong on the walking relay with my toy gator as our baton but our team started to dwindle and then eventually it was just me, Mike, and Jillybean. At about 3AM I had to rest for about an hour, actually we all did. I felt like I failed because people with cancer don’t get a rest, or a break from it. There was a huge turn out for the event and they had the luminarias all lit up. It really was a cool sight that night on the beach. Toodles- Cristina
