Fort Myers Beach dolphin watch and sunset cruises

published on February 22, 2012

Sunny warm days, dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, what more could you want? Oh yeah, great fishing. This past week has been awesome, wonderful folks visiting Fort Myers beach and joining us for our excursions, near perfect weather, great boating conditions…well Sunday night got a little squirrelly but we got some fun tours out to see dolphins anyway during the day. Yesterday morning we saw a pod of dolphins chasing a school of fish in the shallow flats. They are such powerful swimmers, that they look like torpedoes moving through the water towards their target! It was so cool to see them maneuver in such shallow water.  One dolphin caught a fish, and as if he knew we were watching, tossed it in the air to play with it and maybe show it off before he swallowed it. How cool! We have been spotting the manatees more and more, and even spotted a sea turtle this morning on our Sealife shelling and dolphin cruise! Thank you everyone that has joined us recently for a cruise, it really has been a pleasure to share this beautiful landscape with you. The sunsets have just been amazing, so amazing that I chartered our boat for my family to spread my grandma’s ashes at sunset. Wow, what a beautiful night it turned out to be too. On our way out to the Gulf we had dolphins jumping and leaping in the wake of our boat, what a treat that was! After the sun set that night, the dusk sky was lit up with hues of pinks and purples.
